A strange mucus-like infection started to spread rapidly all over the world. You're one of the survivors that is currently on the way to the underground shelter so you have a chance outlive this spreading contagion.
The virus can infect any organism that has living cells in it, can move and think (if the infected had a brain). It can hide itself by entering a chameleon-like state to blend with the terrain, but as you get closer to it your head starts to hurt badly. If the infection spread to a living organism with any sort of brain then it loses it's mimicry abilities and doesn't affect your brain but it becomes more intelligent the more creatures it swallows.
